American Sign Language Workshop

Service Description

This FREE workshop is presented by Timothy Skaggs, Director of the Community Center for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. This important event is FREE and open to the public. Topics covered will include: Common misconceptions about ASL; Deaf culture and Deaf identity; differences in cultural norms; differences in day-to-day experiences; the impact of language deprivation; tips on working with Deaf individuals; working with an interpreter; and more! This presentation will be conducted in ASL with ASL to English interpretation.
